Flybe Limited is a British airline based in Devon, at Exeter International Airport. It is one of Europe’s largest regional airlines with 180 routes to 65 different European airports and carrying over 7 million passengers a year to their favourite destinations. Cheap flights to Barcelona anyone?
Flybe was founded in 1979 under the name Jersey European Airways. This airline worked with another charter airline, Spacegrand, until they finally merged in 1985. With passenger numbers increasing in the 1990s, Jersey European Airways was rebranded and the team and aircraft all got new uniforms. In 1993 the Business Class was introduced to their aircraft, making Jersey European Airlines the first domestic airline to offer a more comfortable seating class to its passengers, for a higher price. In 1995 the airline acquired new jets to accommodate cheap flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle and Glasgow.
In the following years, Flybe was the first to offer Scheduled Airline Insurance protection as part of the booking process to its passengers, launched an on-line check in facility in 2006, in 2007 launched the first ever Eco Labelling scheme for the airline industry, introduced flights to Aberdeen, and re-accommodated 20,000 passengers free of charge when the Isle of Man-based airline Euromanx collapsed.
Flybe does not indicate any further discounts for travelling infants, children, or seniors. Check regularly online at liligo.com for seasonal offers and last minute Flybe deals.
