History of Air Tanzania
Air Tanzania was first established in 1977 at the same time that East African Airways ceased operations. The airline began by operating regional flights and flights to Kilimanjaro. Presently the airline is in the process of privatization and is awaiting approval of an IATA membership. Once flights resume, the airline is expected to fly to nearly 20 destinations. Air Tanzania also has codeshare agreements with Air Uganda and Air Zimbabwe.
